AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a unexpected collaboration that breaks usual expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Uncovered
According to the authorized statement, "A mysterious confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of forbidden practices and monstrous transformations reverberate through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a clandestine cult.
The adventure concentrates on "strange trials and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Transformations
The trailer highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Bonus Material
Players who finish the mission will receive an unique katana alongside multiple artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special implements

Third Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This humorous adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature abilities: Naoe debuts a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
